Personal Energy RIGHTS PDF  | Print |

Energy is EVERYONE'S RIGHT

Energy is an essential to life the same as air and water. Try living a day without using energy ( unless you want to be a hunter gatherer). The reason you can't smoke in the subway or in public places now is Canadians recognize the absolute RIGHT of all people to breathe clean air. Neither you're neighbour, the government or anyone has the right to prevent or even interfere with your ability to breath clean air. No one is allowed to pollute it or tax it or limit your access to it. The same applies to clean water.  . . . and the SAME applies to ENERGY. It's essential to life and like the atmosphere, the sources of clean energy are freely accessible and cannot be controlled by anyone. Everyone has the right to the clean and virtually inexhaustible energy all around us.

We therefore propose . . .

Personal ENERGY RIGHTS and PROPOSED LEGISLATION on Energy Rights

We hold these truths to be self evident: That,

Like the air we breathe, the energy from the sun and wind belongs to all earth's inhabitants.
Access to "personal energy" in the form of heat, electricity or stored energy is the right of all human beings.

Therefore;

All humans have the inalienable right to collect, process and use all of the energy on our person or our property, whether fixed or mobile, for personal use, without taxation, control or interference by governments, other individuals or groups.

All humans have the right to share the energy collected freely with their families and dependents, as long as it does not impact another person’s right to quiet occupancy of their own space and property and such sharing of energy is not for a commercial purpose, trade or profit.

We commit to convert, store and use such energy safely in compliance with regulations that do not interfere with our ability to collect such energy and with minimum impact on earth's environment.

No person, commercial enterprise, government, government agency, individual or group shall have the right to interfere with, prevent another person from collecting, storing, converting or using energy, or be entitled to taxes or compensation for personal energy being collected or used, whether the energy being collected is on their personal property or in the space or vehicle they occupy while moving about.

This in no way interferes with any government, commercial enterprise or organization from collecting or taxing energy on their own private or public property for the purpose of selling it into the market place. Commercial power production is not a part of personal energy rights.

DEFINITION: Personal Energy; is the energy needed for an individual and their family's use for light, heating or cooling, cooking, transportation, communications and entertainment.

a.       Prevent or constrain an individual from collecting storing, converting or using energy from the sun or any natural source derived from the sun, that falls upon, grows on or passes through or over the space owned or occupied by an individual or the property of or means of conveyance owned or used or occupied by an individual for the personal use of themselves or their immediate family or dependents residing with them in their place of domicile.

Email us your endorsement and/or comments and we will forward this in the form of a private members energy bill to the government of Canada for inclusion in the Canadian Bill of Rights.
